Chamber Speaker Series features: Housing Panel: Affordable housing, accessible housing and homelessness in our community

In an effort to meet the needs of our community the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced that it will hold a panel discussion on housing to address the subjects of affordable housing, accessible housing and homelessness in Whatcom County.

Chamber President/CEO Guy Occhiogrosso, says “Our current housing situation in the community is easily the largest item we have to tackle and resolve in our community. With our Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan being revised in 2016, we have to choose to be educated as the decisions we make now will impact us for the next 10 years.”

The Chamber Speaker Series: Housing Panel will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29th  at the Four Points Sheraton located at 714 Lakeway Drive in Bellingham.

“We are happy to announce that we’ll have five panelists to discuss the different aspects of the topic,” said Occhiogrosso.  The panelists include: Greg Winter of the Opportunity Council,  Emily O’Connor of Lydia Place, Dean faring of Kulshan Community Land trust, Linda Twitchell of the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County and Mary Kay Robinson of the Whatcom County Association of Realtors and Windermere Real Estate.
