American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians have a strong history of entrepreneurship and small business ownership. The SBA can assist you as you begin your journey into small business ownership, help you expand and create new jobs and provide the resources to help you survive and prosper through challenging economic times.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the SBA highlights three resources for Native business owners:

  1. SBA Office of Native American Affairs– Their mission is to ensure that American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians seeking to create, develop and expand small businesses have full access to the necessary business development and expansion tools available through the Agency’s entrepreneurial development, lending and procurement programs.
  2. Native American Business Resource Guide – Download the guide to learn about specific programs and resources that will help your business.
  3. Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) – Are you interested in selling to the government? Find out what contracting opportunities you may be eligible for, and get free certification help.
