A few weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to volunteer for the Bellingham Schools Foundation Thing Big Student Club Challenge. The evening was a showcase of some of the best from our local high school students. The event gave these student clubs to flex their knowledge of sales and philanthropy. Each club gave their pitch to the audience and to us as the judging panel.

When it was all said and done, each club got some funds for their project with the winners getting a bit more. For the first time, our debate team will be able to go to nationals (even though they have qualified multiple times before). The film club will be able to afford a camera versus borrowing a private one. The engineering club will be working towards wayfinding signage for the trails on Galbraith. And four other big ideas from our future leaders.

Congrats to the students, teachers, parents, and of course the Bellingham Schools Foundation. I look forward to helping again next year!
