Bring a camera, because the Junior Parade presented by Haggen has the cutest children, floats, pets and a variety of other sights you don’t want to miss. The Junior Parade is held on Friday, May 19 at 6:00 PM along Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham.
Anyone can be a part of this event by assembling at the beginning of the parade route (Cornwall and Kearney) from 4:30-6:00 p.m. and Junior Race teams are encouraged to participate.
Registration is required for floats, car and trucks and marching bands.
In addition, the Junior Parade is looking for volunteers to carry the banners for the parade. Banner-carriers are usually middle school students. Anyone interested can contact the chamber at 360-734-1330.
The 2016 Junior Parade will be held on Friday, May 19 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The parade starts on the corner of Cornwall and Kearney Streets, continues down Cornwall and ends at Railroad and Champion Streets.
Participants may begin lining up at 4:15 p.m. Judging begins at 4:30 p.m.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Grand Prize
- Best Pet
- Best Large Float
- Best Small Float
- Best Group
- Best Decorated Bike
- Best Novelty
- Judges Award
- Band Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
